2. Overview
We only process personal data where this is necessary to run this website, answer enquiries and administer our members. The legal bases are in particular Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent), (b) (contract or membership), (c) (legal obligations) and (f) (legitimate interests).
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is operated by an external hosting provider. When you visit the pages, technically necessary data is processed, such as IP address, date and time, the page visited, browser and operating system. This serves the secure and stable provision of the website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). We have a data processing agreement with the host.
4. Cookies and consent
We use technically necessary cookies, for example to store your cookie choice. We manage consent with the plugin “Compliance by Hu-manity.co”. Services that require consent are only loaded after you agree (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). You can change your choice at any time via the icon at the bottom left of the page.
5. Contact form and e-mail
If you write to us via the contact form or by e-mail, we process your details (name, e-mail address, message) to handle your enquiry (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR). The form is provided by the plugin Contact Form 7. To protect against spam we use a locally generated captcha as well as Google reCAPTCHA (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). reCAPTCHA analyses usage behaviour to tell humans from bots; data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in preventing abuse (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) or your consent where requested.
6. Online membership application
Our online application collects the details for your membership. When you submit it, we send your application data (membership type, name, address, contact details, sponsor, desired start, consents) by e-mail to our board. Your bank details (IBAN, BIC) are not transmitted. They are only inserted into the PDF of the application inside your browser, which you download, sign and send to us. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (initiating and carrying out the membership). We pass member data on to Toastmasters International (USA) where this is required for the membership. To create the PDF your browser loads the program library pdf-lib from cdnjs (Cloudflare, Inc.); your IP address is transmitted to Cloudflare in the process.
7. Statistics and security
We use Jetpack (Automattic Inc., USA) for simple visitor statistics and technical features and Wordfence (Defiant Inc., USA) to protect the website against attacks. IP addresses and technical usage data may be processed and transferred to the USA. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and working website or your consent where requested. Automattic is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
8. Fonts
The fonts used on this website are loaded locally from our server. There is no connection to Google Fonts.
9. External links and services
For guest tickets we link to Eventbrite, for the club agenda to Easy-Speak (tmclub.eu), and to our profiles on LinkedIn, Instagram, Meetup, YouTube and Facebook. These services are only loaded when you click the respective link. From then on the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
10. Photos at club events
Photos are taken at club evenings and events, which we may publish on this website and on social networks. Members consent to this in the membership application. If you do not want to be photographed, please tell us on site. If you want a published picture removed, write to us.
11. Storage period
We store personal data only as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention periods. We delete enquiries once they have been dealt with, and member data after the end of the membership, subject to statutory periods.
12. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, P.O. Box 3163, 65021 Wiesbaden, Germany.
