What we do is attend Toastmasters, which is what we<\/em> like. \u00a0On\u00a0a night of european football (Bayern vs Barcelona) we held our own! \u00a014 members, 6 guests, & 1 new member.<\/span><\/p>\n

Was it worth\u00a0giving up a night in the bar for an evening of \u00a0Toastmasters? \u00a0Absolutely. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

American sportsman Ray Lewis said<\/span>.\u00a0“Don’t walk through life just playing football.. or being an athlete. \u00a0Athletics will fade. \u00a0Character and integrity and really making an impact on someone’s life. That’s the ultimate vision. That’s the ultimate goal.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

That’s what we also aim for, to develop ourselves and others around us.<\/span><\/p>\n

Communication<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We heard three prepared speeches from the 10-project Toastmasters basic and advanced speech manuals. \u00a0Our speakers were Cezar, delivering a PR speech on TM; Moritz delivering an advanced speech on developing rapport with the audience, and Bertalan delivering the club’s first speech in german for a good long time, which touched on his favourite subject, mind mapping.<\/span><\/p>\n

The best feedback and evaluation one can give is that which encourages and leads to growth. \u00a0Growth oriented, realistic, and nurturing evaluations were given by Ben, Barbara, and Mirja.<\/span><\/p>\n

Impromptu speaking is what we do every day. \u00a0the more you practice, the more at ease you will be when faced with the unexpected interview, encounter, or demand. \u00a0Our impromptu ‘Table Topics’ speaking session was run by Martin: \u00a0Barbara, Andrei, our guest Linda, and Isabelle all coped with the fun and easy going topics thrown at them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meeting manager Olaf, our Toastmaster of the Evening, gave nothing away to let on that this is his first TME roll. \u00a0His meeting was punctual, focussed, and calm. \u00a0 Our general evaluator Moritz helps us on a path of continual improvement. \u00a0His, and other comments on the night, included the following observations.\"OLYMPUS<\/span><\/p>\n
