The new trial location was smart and central. \u00a0Thanks Christoph.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>With 13 members and 7 guests, 20 attendees makes this our biggest meeting yet.<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><b>Communication<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div><b>Asli<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>Olaf<\/b>\u00a0gave their speech project 3, &#8220;Get to the Point&#8221;. \u00a0Asli spoke about tolerance in the face of religious and ethnic diversity, whilst Olaf entertained us with insights into how airlines earn money, and how we as consumers can save it. \u00a0<b>Moritz<\/b>\u00a0stepped in at short notice, and spoke about the benefits of a positive approach to life events in the wake of recent illness.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Evaluations<\/b>\u00a0were ably presented by Ben, Christian M, and guest Karla.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Christian S successfully brought drama and mystery to\u00a0<b>Table Topics impromptu speaking<\/b>\u00a0session, in which J\u00f6rg, Isabel, and guest Petros spoke for up to two minutes.<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><b>Organisation<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div>Ivan presided as TME. \u00a0His experience as founding member of the club showed through as he ran the meeting with humour and purpose.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We always aim to learn and improve. \u00a0For next time, to improve our meeting, we can consider the following (from our General Evaluator and guest comments).<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>TME should assign one minute after each speech for written feedback.<\/li>\n<li>TME could prepare the speakers&#8217; emails in advance for those who use the EvaluateMe App.<\/li>\n<li>The fridge in this location is noisy. \u00a0TME or S@A should assess and address issues before the meeting.<\/li>\n<li>Timer roll should be on the agenda 3 times, after each speaking section, not just the once.<\/li>\n<li>CL evaluator can be added to the agenda<\/li>\n<li>The next meeting location was noted as incorrect (see below).<\/li>\n<li>Run through the agenda verbally at the start of the meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Other remarks and observations<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Name tags were a great addition.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluation sheets were on the tables. \u00a0Great!<\/li>\n<li>The TT speakers all took their 30 seconds preparation time. Bravo.<\/li>\n<li>The meeting was run without clock-watching, which gave an efficient but relaxed feel.<\/li>\n<li>The Sergeant @ Arms roll is important when we are using floating venues. \u00a0Today our TME did it. \u00a0We can share this responsibility with advance planning.<\/li>\n<li>Having a Welcome Host is important, especially in a new location and with so many guests.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>As TME, Ivan will finalise the presence and close out the meeting in the Easy Speak system.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><b>Upcoming events<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div>No special events<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><b>Club news<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #666666; font-size: large;\">Membership<\/span><\/h2>\n<div>3 new members. \u00a0<b>Petros<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>Chu Ping<\/b>\u00a0completed the membership form, and\u00a0<b>Ivan H<\/b>\u00a0is waiting for us to process his application. \u00a0We look forward to welcoming them as members at the next meeting.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Membership has been steady through the autumn, so this is an important step for the growth and success of our club. \u00a0<b>I encourage all members to bring a guest to each meeting, or to talk up TM in their social circles, to make our club successful<\/b>.<\/div>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #666666; font-size: large;\">International Speech &amp; Evaluation contests<\/span><\/h2>\n<div>Our\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>most important task<\/b><\/span>\u00a0is completed &#8211; we have a\u00a0<b>club contest Event Organiser<\/b>\u00a0for March. \u00a0Brave, dynamic, active and engaged\u00a0<b>Asli<\/b>\u00a0will take this roll. \u00a0Thank you Asli.<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>You too can gain leadership credits by stepping forwards as Contest Chair for either, or both, contests, or as Chief Judge. \u00a0Emails by return, please.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #666666; font-size: large;\">Contest dates<\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Wednesday 18th March club contest.<\/li>\n<li>Saturday 18th April Area F4 contest, Frankfurt.<\/li>\n<li>Saturday 2nd May, Division F (SW Germany) Contest, Mannheim.<\/li>\n<li>Fir-Sun 22-24 May, District 95 (north Europe) Conference, Boras, Sweden.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #666666; font-size: large;\">Ready to Participate?<\/span><\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Competing is the fastest route to improvement.<\/li>\n<li>Make this the year to be brave and take the first step.<\/li>\n<li>For the International Speech contest, you need to have completed 6 speeches from the CC manual. Your speech will be a regular 5-7 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>The evaluation contest is open to all members.
